Phoenix Children's Division of Otolaryngology is Hiring a Physician Assistant
Position Details:
Full-time position with a 10-hour shift, 4 days a week
Primary outpatient clinic role with potential consults at new hospitals
Workdays: Monday – Friday with some flexibility
Responsibilities:
Management of ENT concerns in medically complex pediatric patients
Inpatient/Outpatient procedures:
Debridement of ear canals
Frenotomy
Rigid nasal endoscopies
Flexible laryngoscopies
Foreign body removal (ear and nose)
Tracheoscopies
Nasal cautery and more
Requirements:
At least one year of PA experience in pediatrics or a surgical specialty preferred
Ability to work autonomously
Willingness to self-educate if no prior ENT experience (training will be provided)
Inpatient Duties:
Conduct H&Ps, consults, and rounds on ENT pediatric patients in all units, including post-op care and procedures.
Manage ENT concerns, tracheostomies, post-operative, and complex airway patients.
Occasionally assist in the OR with head and neck cases and other procedures.
Work collaboratively with residents, fellows, APPs, and attendings; strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Call Requirements:
Respond to hospital and parent phone calls from 3pm-7am
On call 2-3 nights per month, Monday-Friday, variable
Clinic Duties:
Locations: Main Campus-Phoenix, Mesa, Mercy Gilbert, Estrella, Arrowhead, Avondale
Clinic Hours: 7am – 5pm
Perform H&Ps, physical assessments, in-office procedures, and order/review diagnostic tests.
Engage in multidisciplinary planning and treatment of pediatric ENT patients.
Assist in reviewing provider health messages.
Qualifications:
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date.
Current State of Arizona certification as a Physician Assistant or obtained by start date.
Maintain certificate in National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Master’s degree from a nationally accredited ARC-PA program.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills.
