Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) Thoracic Medicine Outpatient (Part-Time)
Hours: 2 days per week, 10 hour flex shifts, weekdays only
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) for the Thoracic Medical Oncology Service in the Department of Medicine. The APP will collaborate with designated physicians and healthcare team members to provide medical care to an assigned caseload of outpatients with thoracic malignancies through shared and independent visits.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join a team of over 800 NPs and PAs across MSK who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert and comprehensive cancer care to patients and families, supporting the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution and department.

You Will: Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members Follow-up and communication of diagnostic test results and treatment plans to patients, caregivers, and referring physicians as indicated. Provide support for the practices of the Thoracic Attending Physicians through routine follow-up care visits, treatment clearance visits, independent and ad hoc visits to address new symptoms. Participate in the implementation of patient education and clinical support programs to ensure optimal care throughout the healthcare continuum
Qualifications needed for a PA candidate are: Graduate from an accredited PA program NCCPA certification Active NYS license or be qualified for state licensure A minimum of 3 years of related experience is preferred
Qualifications needed for an NP candidate are: Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations Masters degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility) 3+ years of related clinical experience Related National NP certification
